As we know, Google are regularly testing new changes to their UI; some make it and some don’t.

Today we spotted Google testing Half Page Site Previews on both standard website listings and mega sitelinks. Personally, I think they are an improvement on the current previews as they are much neater and less disjointed, but we shall see how they fair over the coming weeks.

Who Will You Be Helping?

In the UK, Sport Relief supports young people, old people, local communities, refugee and asylum seeking women, victims of domestic and sexual abuse and people with mental health issues.

Internationally, Sport Relief supports people living in slums, people affected by conflict, street and working children, people affected by HIV and Aids and many other people in desperate situations.

Just £5 could buy new clothes for a child living or working on the streets of Napal and £50 could feed 100 vulnerable street children in India for one day. £500 could provide a young carer in the UK with one to one support for a full year, to help them cope with their huge responsibilities at home and help them to keep up at school.

Want To Help?

We would love you to share our sponsorship attempts to help us make as much money as possible for Sport Relief, so to help you we’ve enabled you to easily share it on your favourite social networks using our share buttons.

Thanks for helping support our Sport Relief Mile 2012 fundraising attempt.

Mediaworks has started the New Year with a bang, after welcoming nine new staff to our illustrious team after a year of phenomenal success.

Emma Adcock will be joining us as a Customer Relationship Manager, where she will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our clients as we develop online marketing strategies. She previously worked for Black &White Advertising as part of their marketing team.

Joining our copywriting team is Katherine Weir, who recently graduated from Sunderland University with a Masters in Magazine Journalism, and Emma Pearson, who recently graduated with a Masters in News Journalism, also at Sunderland University. Their role within the company involves optimising website content and writing informative content for our clients.

Jonathan Birch is our new Online Marketing Executive, who will be liaising with journalists, publications and news sources to develop and promote the online presence of our clientele. He recently graduated from Northumbria University with a Masters in Cultural Management, focusing on marketing techniques used by different sectors.

We also welcome Marty Hayes as our new Senior Digital Strategist. Marty graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Media, Communication and Cultural Studies, and since graduating has worked primarily in Ecommerce at Ethical Superstore, Berghaus and Fashion Union. In his new role he will be working closely with Daniel Hoggan, our Head of Search, to maximise the impact that Mediaworks can make across our key accounts, resulting in increased traffic and revenue for our clients.

As well as the above, we also welcome Michael Finnigan to our SEO Copywriting team, David Winn as an inhouse developer, Marc Cranston to our sales team and William Cook as a new SEO Executive.

The latest recruits will be on hand to help us expand the business even further, continuing our success and hard work for the unbelievable portfolio of clients we have. Now seen as one of the largest digital marketing agencies in the UK, it’s never been a better time to join Mediaworks.

Managing Director of Mediaworks, Brett Jacobson, won Young Business Executive of the Year 2011 at the 28th North East Business Executive of the Year Awards, run by The Journal and the Evening Gazette, which took place at the Newcastle Marriott Hotel, Gosforth Park on Thursday, 17th November 2011.

Shortlisted alongside Sarah Gregory, MD of Springhill Farm Accommodation and Will Ryles, founding director ofDovcor, Brett was pleased with the win just four years after starting the North-East’s leading search engine optimisation company, Mediaworks.

Speaking of the win, Brett said “It’s an honour and a great achievement which I’m very proud of. To be honest though the credit needs to go to the team at Mediaworks as without their fantastic support and determination this wouldn’t have been possible“.

With the release of Open Site Explorer yesterday, we at Mediaworks have created a simple Open Site Explorer bookmarklet to enable our SEO’s to access information quickly and easily. Hopefully this can be of some use to you as well.

Create an Open Site Explorer Bookmarklet

To create your Open Site Explorer Bookmarklet for Firefox, simply follow the steps below:

Right click on a blank Toolbar or your existing Bookmark Toolbar

Choose “New Bookmark”

Choose a Name. We chose ‘OSE! Links’

Decide on the version and paste the relevant code into Location:
- Same Window Version:
javascript:location.href='http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/'+location.host+'/a!links'

- New Tab Version:
javascript:(function(){ window.open('http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/'+location.host+'/a!links');})()

Add additional descriptions, keywords or notes you require and click Save.

You now have access to Open Site Explorer’s inbound link count direct from any website that you are visiting at the click of a button.

Additional Open Site Explorer Sections

You can also change the location in the bookmarklet above to access the additional sections such as:

Linking Domains:
javascript:location.href='http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/'+location.host+'/a!domains'

Anchor Text Distribution:
javascript:location.href='http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/'+location.host+'/a!anchors'

Full list of Link Metrics:
javascript:location.href='http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/'+location.host+'/a!metrics'

It appears that so long as you are logged in with your SEOmoz account you should be able to access to the full 1,000 (free) or 10,000(PRO) links straight away. If you haven’t used Open Site Explorer yet, we would highly recommend it.
