Background

Travelex is a currency exchange specialist with over 1,100 stores across the world. The brand tasked Mediaworks with establishing a prosperous online presence in new markets. We will be focusing on the success of the Travelex GWK Netherlands campaign, though positive results were achieved across the board.

Strategy

One of our priorities was establishing Google+ Local pages that would help Travelex branches feature prominently on the search engine results pages (SERPs) following location-based searches.

To boost organic rankings for target keywords, we made technical improvements to the site and generated quality, SEO-friendly content. Our in-house multilingual team was instrumental in generating optimised on- and offsite copy that boosted the Travelex link profile and improved the user experience.

PPC was another crucial tool in our arsenal, as it allowed us to take advantage of fluctuating interest caused by seasonality. Through remarketing, we were also able to prompt purchases from those who has previously visited the site. These strategies ensured every penny of the budget was spent wisely.

Results

We surpassed the targets set and exceeded the client’s expectations with tangible results that generated incredible return on investment (ROI).

Across one year, three target keywords climbed over 90 positions into the top ten. This SEO achievement contributed to a 53% increase to organic traffic, with CRO implementation supporting a 73% boost to organic revenue.

Improvements to Quality Score, extensive keyword analysis and informed bidding meant the Travelex PPC campaign was also a prosperous one: the ROI exceeded 4,000%.

We helped Travelex establish itself in a competitive new market, and our huge success earned us numerous award nominations. An integrated strategy was certainly instrumental in allowing us to smash targets and deliver exceptional ROI to the client.
