Mediaworks Round Up Successful Data-Driven Breakfast Seminars

On the morning of Thursday 7th  June, representatives from Edinburgh’s leading businesses gathered at Microsoft’s office at Waverley Gate, Edinburgh, to gain invaluable insights on the importance of data from Mediaworks and key speakers from Microsoft and PwC.

Representatives from some of Scotland’s top companies were in attendance, such as; Royal Bank of Scotland, Lothian Buses and Lookers to name a few. During the breakfast seminar, Mediaworks’ Technical Director, Daniel Hoggan, discussed the importance of capturing data and how to inform & improve a business’ digital performance.

PwC’s Senior Manager, Ross Foley, focused on the ever-growing threat of cyber security and it’s impact to businesses. He also discussed how to safeguard business-critical data following the GDPR changes.

Microsoft’s Search Manager, Sophie Sarin, provided a glimpse into the evolution of artificial intelligence and the ingenuity of applying it to Marketing. She also shared insights into Microsoft’s bot framework and how Bing are applying AI to their products.

After the insightful and topical presentations, the speakers were presented with a Q&A session, which prompted a discussion around themes touched on in the presentations such as personalization with chatbots and password security.

This was the final event in the series of Mediaworks’ Data-Driven Seminars. We will be delivering our next series of events to Scotland in the near future as well as bringing the event back to the North East, Yorkshire and Manchester in the coming months.
