Raising funds for Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and CAFOD, Lee has impressed the entire office with his enthusiasm and tireless efforts to selflessly assist charities that are close to everyone’s hearts here at Mediaworks.

Lee is a keen runner and many of his challenges this year have been based on his tarmac-tearing ability. From the obstacle-laden Total Warrior event with many other members of the Mediaworks Team to completing the Great North Run, Lee has proved both his running skills and his commitment to charitable causes time and time again.

He has also taken part in some more unusual challenges, such as giving up alcohol for the entire month of January. He also gave up chocolate, crisps and sweets for the full month of February, grew a moustache for Movember and braved an ice cold plunge into the North Sea for the Seaburn Boxing Day dip.

To date, Lee has managed to raise over £400 combined for his charity efforts. We asked him what he thought when he looked back at his incredibly selfless year.

I’ve really enjoyed it, as it has allowed me to do things I had never done before – fundraising by myself for 4 hours standing at an entrance to Argos was daunting at first but it was a really fun experience and something I’d love to do again. It’s also always great to raise any money for Cancer Research UK due to cancer being something that a few of my family members have fought over recent years.

Now that we’re into a New Year, Lee deserves some much needed rest before he launches back into charity. With eyes set on a Tough Mudder challenge, we’re sure he won’t be able to sit still for long.
