12 months ago, we welcomed our latest wave of school-leavers to the big blue ship, as part of our apprenticeship scheme. Today, we’re proud to announce that our apprentices — Cerys Elder, Thomas Keir and James Jones — have all graduated!
Cerys and Thomas have both completed their apprenticeship in Social Media and Digital Marketing, while James Jones has finished his Software Development apprenticeship with Baltic Training. All of our apprentices have gained valuable on-the-job experience, developing their own skills and strengthening their respective teams with an abundance of enthusiasm and fresh ways of thinking.
Newly-graduated Cerys commented: “I chose to do an apprenticeship instead of my A-levels because I learn better in a hands-on environment instead of being sat in a classroom. I’ve enjoyed my apprenticeship at Mediaworks because I’ve learned lots of new skills and had a chance to work with a number of global companies.”
Our latest graduates follow in the footsteps of our past waves of apprentices, who have all gone on to enjoy successful careers in digital marketing. We have plans to continue our apprenticeship scheme in 2017, welcoming more of the North East’s talent to the big blue ship.
Speaking of the apprentices’ achievements, Managing Director Brett Jacobson said: “We’re incredibly proud of our apprentices’ success. Each has proven to be a real asset to our team, bringing fresh ways of thinking and bags of enthusiasm. It has been incredibly rewarding to see their development from school-leavers to confident marketing professionals. This is something we aim to continue in the future.”
The success of our apprentices adds to Mediaworks’ incredible 2017. We’re not even halfway through and we’ve already been shortlisted for Retail Campaign of the Year at the UK Biddable Media Awards 2017 and for Best Use of Search at the Big Chip Awards 2017. We also took home the Digital & Social Media Award at the grand final of the North East Business Awards.
