Mediaworks raises £130 for Sport Relief

On Friday March 21st, the staff at Mediaworks swapped their ties for sweatbands and suits for exercise gear in order to raise money for Sport Relief. MW HQ was filled with activity as we took part in a number of entertaining activities, which raised £130.

The day began when staff members arrived dressed to the nines in a variety of colourful gym-ready outfits. This ranged from Copywriter Nikki Chapman scoring a touchdown in an American football jersey — complete with matching team ball — to PPC Executive Mark Roll highlighting what the day was all about by wearing an official Sport Relief sweatband.

While sport was the theme of the day, five lucky members of staff walked away with a stylish shirt kindly donated by our new client Guide Clothing. Entries to the draw cost £2 each, with all funds raised going to Sport Relief.

Our efforts weren’t focused entirely on fashion though, with lunchtime signifying the arrival of our incredible buffet lunch, which saw the team tucking into tasty treats cooked by our own budding Nigella Lawsons and Jamie Olivers.

For a mere £1 a plate — all funds going to Sport Relief once again — we had the opportunity to tuck into seaweed pancakes prepared by Online Marketing Executive Ping Qian Dorn, falafel wraps by Content Marketing Researcher Katherine Weir, quiche from our Receptionist Ashleigh Walton and vegetarian-friendly pesto pasta salad by PPC Executive Hannah Mattinson, to name but a few appetising dishes.

Desserts then came in the form of Client Relationship Executive Kelly Lord’s cookies, sugar-free disaster brownies from Online Marketing Executive Bethanie Dennis and salted caramel brownies from Head of Outreach Craig Bradshaw — a perfect way to finish a meal.

Once all the food was settled, our Sport Relief-themed day came to a close with a Wii dance off, where staff members showed off their silky moves to the beat of some of the biggest dancefloor hits of all time.

After all the excitement of this successful fundraising event, we are now looking forward to our next challenge in aid of charity — our team effort in the gruelling Total Warrior obstacle course this June.
