Although we all enjoy being at Mediaworks HQ, it’s impossible to deny that there’s a certain amount of jealousy in the air when some of the team head off to attend glamorous award ceremonies. But as much as we all love to don our glad rags and celebrate, someone’s got to stay behind and keep an eye on things.
It’s looks like this is something we’ll have to get used to, as Mediaworks has today received a further two industry award nominations, this time for the UK Search Awards. No sooner had some of our team left for London to attend the Dadi Awards – with enough luggage for a fortnight’s stay – than news reached our ears that we had been shortlisted in the Best Use of Search – Retail category.
This category recognises projects that helps retailers expand their online audience through application search strategy, which gets them noticed by customers old and new. We’ve been shortlisted for the fantastic results we’ve achieved in campaigns for sofa experts ScS and our ‘Red Hot Sunglasses: turning up the heat’ campaign.
Deciding whether we’ll take home the trophy is the UK Search Awards judging panel, which this year includes Colm Bracken, Head of Search Advertising for Microsoft.
The UK Search Awards will take place on Thursday 14th November at the Emirates Stadium, London. As jealous as we’ll be waving off those in taxis filled with excited Mediaworks staff who are attending, the entire team will be eagerly awaiting the results.
In the meantime, we’ve got plenty to be feeling excited about, as we wait to hear the results revealed at tonight’s Dadi Awards ceremony. We’ve been nominated for our project ‘using search to make Brantano a shoe-in online’, also in the Best Use of Search category.
