Mediaworks Staff Survey, The Results Are In

Throughout 2018, Mediaworks expanded greatly, with an increased client base, a brand-new HQ and a growing workforce of over 90 staff. As the company continues to scale and new faces keep rolling in, it’s vital that we maintain our terrific culture as we move into 2019 and beyond.

So, to make sure we’re focusing our energy in the right areas, we thought we’d get some feedback from those people who matter the most – our employees.  As 2018 came to a close, we asked our staff for their opinions on topics such as motivation, culture and ideas for improvements within the team in 2019. So, what did the results show?

Key Survey Results:

  • None of our Mediaworks employees are unhappy with working here; 100% of our employees answered the question about their current satisfaction levels positively
  • Over 88% of our staff believe that they can successfully develop their careers here at Mediaworks

Well it’s official, our staff are awesome! They also think we’re awesome too!  We’re really proud of these results and it gives us great pleasure to know that we have a happy, talented and motivated team of people here.

However, we’re always looking to improve and the Staff Survey also provided some really helpful suggestions for making Mediaworks an even better place to work in 2019.

Flexible Working

A number of Mediaworkers wanted flexible working hours implemented to allow them more freedom to balance family life, appointments and  social activities with their work commitments.

What have we done?

From February we’re rolling out “core hours” working across the business, allowing our employees greater flexibility to manage their working day, using a biometric system in our new office to track arrival and departure times.

Skill Development

Staff outlined training and development as a key area of improvement, with teams looking for training from other departments, as well as time to keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and processes in their service field.

What have we done?

We’ve started introducing dedicated R&D time each week for employees, so they can research innovations in our sector and apply them to their area of the business. Dedicated Thursday night training sessions are also being set up so each team can train other departments in particular topics of interest.

Independent Voice

With the increasing investment in new faces here, it is important that every person in the business has a voice to share any issues or ideas for improvement

What have we done?

We’ve created a Staff Board forum with representation from each team across the whole company, so any issue in the business can be brought up and resolved continuously.

Mediaworks commitment to a positive working environment and culture has also been helped by the recent move to our new HQ, which offers a vibrant open-plan working space, dedicated break-out ‘think spaces’ as well as ergonomically designed chairs to ensure everyone has the best setting to deliver market leading results.
